EDMONTON, Alta. – The federal government has barred an Edmonton-area lodging company from using the temporary foreign worker program.
Noralta Lodge Ltd. has been added to a government “public blacklist” of employers who have broken the rules of or been suspended from the program.
Noralta, which provides accommodation for workers in northern Alberta’s oil and gas sector, was added to the list this week.
A spokeswoman for Employment Minister Jason Kenney’s office says Noralta provided false, misleading or inaccurate information in its application for temporary foreign workers.
Alexandra Fortier says any allegation of abuse of the program is investigated.
Noralta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
